We're gearing up towards our launch in New Plymouth. You'll find basic information regarding ride zones and education on this page.
Know the zones
Operating Zone
JOLT can be used in this zone up to the maximum city speed.
Slow Zone
Vehicles automatically slow down in areas with high foot traffic.
No Parking
Riders cannot park in these zones (eg. near water bodies & areas that may pose safety hazards)
No Riding
This is a no riding zone for JOLT vehicles. Here you won’t be able to ride, or park.
New Plymouth
Our pricing is $1 to unlock, then 55c per minute.
Service hours are between 6am and 11:30pm, Monday to Sunday.
Ages & Safety
By law, you must be 18 years or older to sign up for an account with JOLT. Ages 16+ are permitted to use JOLT as long as the account is created by a parent.
You're able to share your ride status with a trusted person once you've started your trip. You do not need a JOLT account when viewing a shared trip.
Park Smart 
JOLT has virtual parking spots located around New Plymouth. Ending your ride at one of these spots will refund your unlocking fee. Simply look around the map, ride to the designated park and end your ride.
We're strict on parking, make sure your vehicle is parked standing upright to the side of the path or on the grass verge, not blocking any roads, driveways or accessways.
We may issue fines if there is a record of bad parking.
Remember these tips
Remember to share the path with others, scooters can be dangerous if they are ridden without consideration for others. Remember to keep an eye out on your surroundings and avoid areas that have a high amount of traffic (both foot & cars).
Areas such as schools, playgrounds, parks and shopping centres may be restricted. Make sure you look at the areas you're planning on riding through to ensure a safe journey.
